In the coming months, your Healthy & Maine newsletter will provide helpful tips on how to take advantage of your self-service source, MaineStreet.
You’ll want to pay special attention because later on in 2018, the MaineStreet platform will receive a significant upgrade featuring even greater convenience and access for each employee as you seek to maintain your information and accounts, track leave balances, and submit time sheets for approval, etc.
Something that won’t ever change is the need to maintain an updated beneficiary designation on your University of Maine System insurance policies. Life events can have a big impact on your preferences and it’s a good idea to name, change, or confirm your beneficiaries at least once a year.
Enter MaineStreet via your UMS Employee Portal:
Click MaineStreet on the top row of the button array
Click Employee Self-Service
Click Benefits Summary
Click Life, Supplemental Life, AD & D, (Employee always beneficiary for child and spouse)
Click Edit, (make your changes if any)
Remember, for your TIAA beneficiaries, you will need to log into your account at TIAA.org. Under My Account, select Change Beneficiaries from the Profile section. From there, you can designate beneficiaries and select how much each should receive. If you prefer, you can complete a paper form and return it by mail. To have a form mailed to you, call TIAA at 1-800-842-2252.
And remember, you can change your UMS Life Insurance or TIAA beneficiaries at any time.
